In the dream he watched some ersatz lothario press up against his wife after hearing her say you’d never be able to give her a million dollars and the man offered her a new life which excited her and they kissed and it reminded him of a dream her father had told her where his own wife had run away with four German paramours and he felt alone and betrayed even though it was a dream and in the dream she was not actually his wife.
