Fire Dance

Nothings

Everywhere I go it’s like a ghost town.

They’re hiding. Everybody’s hiding from the fires.

That’s a good one. My dad taught me something about fires.

Yeah?

He told me if you ever need a good fire, call a fireman.

That is a good one.

They could have had those things out days ago.

I heard they couldn’t get any water up there.

The army could ionize the skies. The government’s got shit you wouldn’t believe.

Uh.

Well, you have a good night.

Thought:

“

The child wanted to name the rabbit Actually, and could not be dissuaded from this.

It was the first time one of our pets was named after an adverb.

It made us uncomfortable. We thought it to be bad luck.

But no ill befell any of us nor did any ill befall the people who visited our home.

Everything proceeded beautifully, in fact, until Actually died.
