Sardines

Music

Things have been quiet around these parts recently but hopefully that’s all about to change.

I recently had the pleasure of giving a very brief alto saxophone cameo on Brian Scafidi’s new EP Sardines, out now on It’s Okay I’m Crying. Brian is my boss at the bike shop I started working at a few months ago, a job which is at least partially responsible for the recent silence on my part creatively. (Not that I’m complaining about my employment, of course.)

I won’t go into too much detail at this point for fear of jinxing anything, but I have a number of new projects in the works which will see release before the year is out. Take this as a promise I’m still around and I’ll keep this space updated once there’s more to share. Suffice it to say: I’m not dead yet <3

Thought:

“Because that small breakthrough had been so elusive, such a monstrous mountain to scale, I had this idea that once having scaled it, everything else about the Dream would finally lie at my fingertips. Having caught the tip of the Dream, I assumed the rest of it was simply to be taken. I don’t know why, five novels later, it didn’t happen. Any conjecture would only sound graceless, bitter, and self-justifying.… Looking back, I’m not sure I ever believed the Dream was possible.”
